Objectives, Activities, and Expected / Achieved Results:

This project aims to develop a combined cycle gasification system that can be fed with heterogeneous waste materials (such as the lignocellulosic and polymeric fractions of the RDFs and sludge) and includes: a feedstock pre-treatment unit, a gasifier, a boiler and a gas and effluent treatment unit. This system is suitable for processing small to medium waste streams and is based on the reuse of the syngas resulting from the gasification of this waste to produce electricity and thermal energy, reducing the environmental impact of this process and contributing to the efficiency and energy autonomy of waste managers. The process will also allow obtaining hydrocarbon from CDR that may feed the gasifier or the boiler, be used as an adsorbent in the effluent treatment unit, or be marketed for different applications.
